Volunteer

We need you to get involved.

Duke alumni volunteers propel all of the activities of the Duke Alumni Association and invigorate some of the university's most important initiatives. Alumni interview prospective students, plan service learning events, invite us back for class reunions, and organize affinity groups.

They also host meals for current students, offer career advice to students and other alumni, provide current students with feedback on their papers, and lead a wide variety of special projects and programs on campus and around the world.

The Duke Alumni Association coordinates that engagement for more than 10,000 participating alumni, and we’re working to engage the next 10,000. We've created an online tool to help you find the opportunities that fit your schedule, skills, and interests. We know you’ll find an opportunity you’d like to explore.

Duke Alums Engage

One day of one week when real change begins

Join us for Duke Alums Engage, a worldwide program that takes the experience of volunteering to a more meaningful level. Alongside other Duke alums from your area, you will learn the principles of civic engagement and service-learning and then put them into practice through a group project tailored to the needs of your community. Immediately after your day of service, you'll have an opportunity to contemplate and evaluate the experience, as a group and individually.

Visit the DAE for more information on how you can make a difference with Duke Alums Engage.
